Brainwave Entrainment – A Solution For Depression
Tackling depression can be a tricky thing to do. When considering a solution or cure for depression, there are many factors to consider. An emotional low can be caused by a multitude of things, and often times is being caused by a few layers, or an interrelated combination of issues. For example: one person’s depression could be mainly caused by a lack of the brain’s natural production of serotonin, whereas another person’s depression could be caused by the recent (or not so recent) passing away of a loved one. Not too unlikely in both of these cases, there are probably a few other circumstances in their lives that could also be perpetuating the issue (ie: money problems, confidence issues, poor diet, stress at work, or in a relationship, etc.)
We are all becoming much more aware of ourselves in recent times, and many of us are beginning to understand that “depression” is not a simple “disease” that can be narrowed down to one cause and cured with a pharmeceutical drug. It is time for us to finally get down to the real issues here, and figure out how to be truly happy in life.
What is depression?
I am here to propose that depression, when you really search yourself, usually boils down to being a spiritual, existential, real-life issue. I might even go as far as to say that, at least sometimes, depression is not a very unrealistic reaction to the circumstances in one’s life. It is quite the American thing to do to work a job we don’t really like, stay in an unfulfilling relationship for years, lose control of our lives, give up on our dreams, give up on ourselves, and then run to a doctor and say “I’m depressed”. Of course this doctor usually doesn’t know too much about your life, but is eager to sell you a pill. Is this pill going to solve any of these issues?
To truly “cure” depression, one must get to the root of their problems. We have moved beyond the childish assumption that dumbing us down, or making us less aware of our unhappiness is going to solve anything. We need to get to the cause.
My proposal to one suffering from depression is that they get in touch with themselves at a deep level, and understand that they are the ones in control of their attitude and, ultimately, their life circumstances.
The best tool I can recommend for this is brainwave entrainment
Brainwave entrainment helps with depression in a variety of ways. In the short-term, listening to brainwave entrainment instantly begins to stimulate the brain to produce neuro-chemicals that help balance you and make you happy. Serotonin, dopeamine, and melatonin are just a few of the more common ones.
They also help you relax, physically and mentally, in a way that many people have never been able to in the past. A lot of release, and healing can occur when one drops down into Alpha, and even deeper into Theta and Delta. But more importantly than the two benefits mentioned above, using brainwave entrainment to access these deeper states forms a more solid connection between the unconscious mind (where the root of the depression really lies) and the conscious mind. The benefits one reaps from doing this are the exact same benefits that 10-year experienced meditators receive from their regular practice, only you don’t have to practice. You just sit and listen.
When you regularly visit the deeper brainwave states, you will find that your unconscious “issues” begin to surface into your awareness. This is great. It means that you are releasing it. The most amazing thing about this process is that you simply need to be aware of the material that is coming to the surface to realease it.
And this is why I recommend brainwave entrainment as a wholistic solution to depression. Not only will it provide fast relief in the form of relaxation and positive neurochemicals, but it will also, through regular use, get down to the actual cause of one’s depression, and naturally lead it to a state of release and resolution.
